Barbara DeCoursey Roy wrote her first poem in the third grade. She participates in Kevin Higgins Online Poetry Workshop from her home in the woods outside St Louis, Missouri. She had two poems published in The Galway Review in March 2016. In May of this year she received Honourable Mention in the James H Nash Poetry Contest sponsored by the St Louis Poetry Centre. Her winning poem, Minerva, was published in the St Louis Poetry Centre 57th Annual Contest book. Barbara earned a BA in Theatre Arts from St Louis University, and a MA in Counselling Psychology from Loyola University Chicago.
