Name of the Rose – poem

Name of the Rose poem, poetry, Ireland, - HeadStuff.org

There you were standing.

I invited you for dinner.

Right there you were

For the very first time in my apartment

Standing with this little beautiful rose.

I could not resist.

I just could not turn away from you.

In the name of the rose

That you picked from someone’s garden –

This fragile rose you gave me –

I wanted to be with you.

In the name of the rose

I changed my life.

In the name of the rose

I opened my heart.

In the name of the rose

I get light-hearted happiness.

In the name of the rose

I lived our love –

And saw it falling apart,

Blossom by blossom.

In the name of love

I hope I’ll find another rose.
