Erasure Poems

By Ana Prundaru
I skimmed pages of non-fiction books and weather archives, until I found one or two words that spoke to me, in the sense that they captured an emotion or topic I was hoping to bring to life. Next, I chose words that complemented and enhanced the original word(s) and connected them. Finally, I considered ways to elevate the finished piece. Typically, I erase or blur everything around the chosen words. With some erasures, I added an illustration that highlighted the spirit of that poem. (Ana Prundaru)
