Tittererer’s Digest #40 (feat. John Hodgman)

Hello, Tittererery things are a bit thin on the ground this week for some reason so I have two articles that I quite enjoyed, one by Famous Man John Hodgman, and another by Sady Doyle. Then I thought we could just gather round and watch some old youtube videos by Irish comedians and writers. Maybe we could snuggle? No, that was a silly idea. Let’s just get on with it.

1. John Hodgman Answers 11 Questions

Interestingly bearded interesting person John Hodgman gives a series of very interesting and deep, involved answers to the AV Club’s 11 questions.

Read it here

2. Sady Doyle – PC Comedy and Paul Revere

This piece was all over my twitter timeline this week and with good reason. As Doyle points out, conversations about offence and political correctness in comedy usually involve people shouting at each other until something shiny rolls past. Doyle takes the time to reach out to the still-quite-large number of people who think that rape jokes are ok and reminds us all that people’s opinions change. I’m not doing it justice. It’s a great piece. Read it here [TW: Rape]

3. Gym Gravy

Dreamgun are probably geniuses? I don’t know. I’m not McArthur Grant. Rather selfishly, Dreamgun haven’t put up a new video since I became the humour editor here so this is my first chance to post something of theirs. It’s good. Real good.

4. Bleeding Gums

Giles Brody and Colin  Chadwick present a catchy jingle about gums.

I dunno, maybe it’s because the kids are back to school but there’s not much titterering around. Let’s all hope next week is better.
