Tittererer’s Digest |81| feat. Baited with Ziwe

Hey Tittererers, Alan here, let’s keep this quick because there’s loads of things this week. There’s Baited With Ziwe, Dangerfarm, ESENEM, Conor O’Toole, DUMB, Emily Nussbaum, and OTHER THINGS TOO. Let’s go.

1. Baited With Ziwe

Here’s the first four episodes of Above Average’s new series Baited with Ziwe. Ziwe seems like the best and I want to be her friend even though I’m probably very easy to bait. This is really funny. Watch it and consider how you, the majority white readership of Tittererer’s Digest, would have messed up under Ziwe’s questioning.

2. How Jokes Won The Election

It’s really happening. The inauguration. Of Donald Trump. We’ve got plenty of problems and empty-headed showmen of our own in charge over here of course although ours have more of a “disgraced bassist from the showband era” vibe as opposed to Trump’s Playboy reality tv schtick. Still though, I think we’re allowed to feel a little worried. Anyway, Emily Nussbaum’s New Yorker piece here looks at the role that satire and Trump’s refusal to take himself seriously while also having no sense of humour led him to becoming the actual literal for reals president of the United States of America.

Sam & Mikey have made a series of shorts, each based on a play on words. There’s one of them just above you there. It’s fun right? You can watch the others on their YouTube channel or on their website here

4. Introducing Google Grass

Dangerfarm and all who sail in her are back and *whispers* it might be the best Dangerfarm video yet. Who’s to say? Not me, I was born without opinions. I just do what Ziwe says now.

5. The Witch

And look! More Irish comedy from Conor O’Toole and Ruth Hunter. Irish comedy: It’s good.

DUMB  have been kind of quiet recently but now they have two new videos. The first is this very pointed one starring James Cross and TD favourite Rekha Shankar and directed and edited by Jordan Mendoza.

And here’s the second starring Jordan Mendoza and Matt Strickland. A simple joke given loads of setup and worldbuilding which is kind of unnecessary but also really special? I dunno. I follow A LOT of sketch groups on YouTube in order to find stuff for the insatiable beast that is Tittererer’s Digest and DUMB’s videos look like no one else’s and always have a little something extra going on so I like’em a lot..

7. Alison Spittle Discovers Hawaii (for the last time)

If you’re reading this you probably already know Alison Spittle, and you probably know that her show Discovers Hawaii, has been wowing people both here and Edinburgh over the last year or so. You probably also know that Alison is going to perform it for the last time EVER in Whelan’s this Sunday with support from Conor O’Toole and No Monster Club. If you didn’t know that, details are here. I’ll be there, say hello.

Ok, that’s it. Have fun you crazy kids
