Old-School rock band The Treatment are coming to the Academy 2 this summer. The five-piece Cambridge based band have been confirmed to play in Dublin as part of their Running With Dogs tour, named after their latest studio album.
The band who’s fans include Slash, Gene Simmons and Nikki Sixx to name a few, are part of The Great Rock Revival and pride themselves on being pure unfiltered, classic rock&roll. They are rebelling against the neo rock trends which today are all about experimentalism, progression and malleable sub-genres.
The Treatment invite you back to the original sound of the likes of AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper and all the rock gods of the 70s, the only replacement being new fresh hearts and minds telling new fresh stories.
If you’re a 70s soul trapped in a modern world with modern rock music that just doesn’t hit the spot like Cooper and Zeppelin, then prepare for an revolutionary live experience. This band are exorcising rock&roll and offering relief from the plethora of new acts who’s attempts to stand out often over-shadow musical quality and why artists make music in the first place.
The Treatment who’ve opened shows for Motorhead and Thin Lizzy and who’ve played massive rock&roll festivals Ozzfest, High Voltage and Sonisphere are playing The Academy 2 on June 18 2014 and tickets are on sale from Friday April 18. With over 20,000 likes on their Facebook page already, early bookings are advisable. The tickets cost 15 euro and the event is strictly over 18s only.
On the night you can expect to hear their signature track The Doctor and the herculean hit Departed.
And for any talented and experienced guitarists out there – a vacancy has now officially opened. The band are currently on the hunt for fresh meat to take Jake Pattinson’s place and become lead guitarist of The Treatment – but only if you’re made of the right material.
“As of now, we are holding auditions for the role of a lead guitar player in The Treatment! Jake came into the band originally as a dep, and we have been very grateful for him seeing us through a tough period, but we have mutually decided that we would like to further our search for a full time replacement. We have a big touring schedual in place for the next two years, so whoever considers the job will need to be prepared to give 100% commitment, No time wasters or love sick puppies need apply! 100% rock and rollers only!” – The Treatment
So not only will you be entertained… You may even be employed!
