#155 | Ochtó Bliain Ag Fás: Tomás Kenny & Kenny’s Bookshop

Bookshops and their proprietors thrive on browsers, on customers asking for recommendations,on book launches and on all the little interactions which the pandemic has robbed us of.

So what’s it like to run a bookshop in a pandemic?

As well as being a Galway institution for eighty years, Kenny’s Bookshop is a family business for three generations and counting. Tomás Kenny is part of that third generation.

He tells Darach about the book business – battles with censors, noticing when a book has been mentioned on TV and his shop’s commit to Irish language publishing.
