NO ENCORE #010 | Three Out Of Five

DOUBLE FIGURES, AWWWWWWH YEAH. Ahem.

To celebrate hitting the big One-Zero, your NO ENCORE boys – Dave Hanratty, Craig Fitzpatrick and Colm O’Regan – welcome Kieran McGuinness from the excellent Delorentos on board as a special guest co-host. A man with an obvious passion for music, Kieran can be heard on TXFM presenting The Set List on Sunday evenings and, as revealed here, has dabbled in some pretty contentious music journalism.

That means he’s right at home as we report back from Bruce Springsteen’s triumphant visit to Croke Park, run down the usual strange goings-on in the music world, cast judgement on the most notable new songs and delve deep into third album from pop sensation Ariana Grande.

ACT ONE: A lot to catch up on given Colm’s jaunt to Norway and his appointments with The Last Shadow Puppets, Derren Brown and The Boss once back on home soil, so let’s review, shall we? Also, Dave went to a wrestling show.

ACT TWO (22:00): News. Adele ‘sells out’ to the tune of £90 million, Hilary Clinton totes loves Beyoncé, Whitney Houston’s family don’t like holograms and Eminem has gone into the bricklaying trade. PLUS, the Top 10 is back.

ACT THREE (40:45): Kieran’s patented rating system is tested as Wild Beasts, Hilary Woods, Bat For Lashes and The Strokes make up our Songs of the Week.

ACT FOUR (1:07:25): The boys tackle Ariana Grande’s new album, Dangerous Woman.
