Episode 84 – Phil Kay
Phil Kay has performed seat of your pants, follow your nose stand up comedy for 25 Edinburgh festivals in a row and beyond. He first arrived on the comedy scene when he won the 1993 newcomer competition “So You Think You’re Funny”. Phil won the award for best stand up in the 1994 British Comedy Awards. He has performed successful runs at the Adelaide and Melbourne festivals. He recorded a TV show Phil Kay Feels… for Channel 4 in 1997. Kay has recently been performing kids shows at the Edinburgh Festival and has written an autobiography Wholly Viable. I talked to Phil in my hotel room in Bangkok during a run of gigs with him in Thailand.
