This week on Up To 90, we talk everyone’s favorite wannabe rapper and underpants wearer Mark Wahlberg aka Marky Mark.
Growing up in Southie Boston, the younger brother of Donnie Wahlberg (New Kids on The Block anyone?) meant Marky Mark had more than enough street-smarts to merit his progression into gangster rap but it was ability to wear underwear whilst looking straight ahead that really saw him ascend to the upper echelons of early nineties stardom with lightning speed.
We talk his criminal past; drug problems and dedicating books to your penis. We also explore the murky world of naked photoshoots, the advantages of doing ‘family time’ when your kids are at school, and setting aside an hour and a half every day for a shower. We touch upon violent attacks Mark committed as a teenager as well as his impressive turns in such classic films as Boogie Nights and The Departed, which confirmed his status as an actor of commendable talent.
