Featured Artist| Janice Lightowler

Belfast-born Janice Lightowler has established herself as a professional artist for the past 25 years.  She paints from life, every day scenes with a wide variety of subjects. She has many fine pencil drawings, although primarily works in oil paints, often times incorporating ceramics into the work as well. No matter what the subject, she always puts heavy emphasis on the finest details. Her artwork invites the viewer to slow down, look at life a little bit more closely, and hopefully, appreciate their surroundings.

Janice graduated with a B.A.(Hons) in 1990 from the University of Ulster in Belfast, and currently resides in Moira, Co. Down.  She is a member of the Arts Society of Ulster (ASU) and Ulster Society of Women Artists (USWA). Her work is part of the Ulster Television Art Collection, and has also exhibited with the Royal Ulster Academy in Belfast and the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin.
