What is Instagram for you?
Instagram for me is a relaxed environment that can exhibit both portfolio and lifestyle. I would use it to not just showcase my photography but to show the process behind photo and video shoots, it’s more informal as opposed to my website. I like to use it as a mood board for myself and a place to keep things I see on a daily basis that would influence me.

Why/when did you decide to start sharing your work on there?
I started taking Insta “seriously” about a year ago when I was studying cinematography and really got into developing film in a darkroom. I gained appreciation for being careful and specific in what I was shooting, which I guess is a similar process when choosing what to post on the gram.

How would you describe your style?
If I tried to put my style into one sentence I would say, “an ominous jellyfish washed up on a foggy beach, but it’s snowing… and there are lots of trees.”

What equipment do you use?
I currently use a 5D Mark III to shoot video and digital. I recently bought an old Russian Zenit for film photography.

Who has been or currently is an influence on you?
I find a lot of my inspiration in nature for sure, but also from directors like Tarkovsky, Bergman and Béla Tarr. I’m working on a short film at the moment that takes a lot of inspiration from my childhood, so I suppose everyday experiences too.
