Trish Bennett dabbled for years before ‘coming out’ as a writer. Nowadays, her family are afraid to open their mouths around her for fear she’ll turn it into something. Bennett won the Leitrim Guardian Literary Award for poetry in 2017 & 2018, was Commended in the Forty Words Competition by The Bangor Literary Journal (2018), Shortlisted for the North West Words / Donegal Creameries 2017 Poetry Competition, The Sixth Bangor Poetry Competition (2018) and long listed in the “Over the Edge ‘New Writer of the Year Award” in 2013. She is working on her first anthology of poetry.
