NO ENCORE #011 | Where Seagulls Dare…

Following last week’s rather unfortunate debacle, we’re back with a bang as future-pop warriors Funeral Suits gatecrash the studio (okay, they were invited) to deliver the most harrowing bird-related tale you’ll ever experience. Short version; seagulls are monsters.

That’s just the start of proceedings as the Suits slot in as guest co-hosts alongside the regular intrepid crew of Dave HanrattyCraig Fitzpatrick and Colm O’Regan. On the agenda? Forbidden Fruit 2016 in mini-review – you can read ALL of Dave’s thoughts right here – , the usual rumblings in the music world, some terrible football songs and a look at the debut album from Minor Victories.

ACT ONE: We welcome the wonderful Funeral Suits to the podcast and they immediately horrify us with a bloody tale. Elsewhere, Dave and Colm report back from Forbidden Fruit 2016.

ACT TWO (13:00): A veritable hodgepodge of news featuring Julian Casablancas trashing festivals, Glastonbury’s new venture and poor Ed Sheeran being sued.

ACT THREE (29:20): FOOTBALL FEVER hits as we take on the best and worst (okay they’re all awful) songs of Euro 2016 and Dave lays into wretched ‘funnyman’ James Corden.

ACT FOUR (50:40):  Irish Times journalist Brian Boyd wrote an interesting piece on festivals and the REVELLERS that frequent them. We discuss it.

ACT FIVE (58:45): The boys review the debut effort from shoegaze-friendly supergroup Minor Victories, and Dave gets preoccupied by Jake Bugg.
