Anna Kolosova is an emerging contemporary artist living and practicing in London, UK. She is investigating the possibilities of painting using objects that she finds magnetic in some way. By not using the usual conventions of painted supports Kolosova has been able to play with various methods, processes and materials attached to the three-dimensional surfaces in almost in a sculptural way. In most cases she uses wood, Perspex, fabrics and other elements of desire. Kolosova is evolving from the concept of 'combine' paintings once introduced by Robert Rauschenberg, where she sees her work as 'combine' works rather than paintings, or sculptures they act as contained within themselves finished still works. The artist sees her work as different layers of 3-dimensionality, which are also seen as purely images or signs, and is looking at the dialogues that happen between them in a curated physical institutionalised spaces. Kolosovas works serve as homes for Signifiers of her experiences, emotions and ideas that cannot be expressed verbally Experience Memorials. In other words, all the work she conjures up portrays the bits from her experiences she chose and the ecstatic moments in those, and all of them become Signifiers that lay very far away from concrete describable real things. They do not really have names, or functions, even though certain parts of them can remind one of something they once saw as real and logically true.
